Who we are

Thistl’d Haus was founded by Elijah and Stephanie Johnston-Heck in 2025.

Elijah got his start building houses at 14 and worked in residential and commercial design/build for a dozen years before focusing on renewable energy system design and implementation for the next dozen years building residential and commercial solar and off-grid projects across Texas and North America.

Stephanie was born and raised in Austin and got her start in real estate with a local Austin broker then moved on to the semiconductor industry where she gained a deep knowledge of electronics and global trade.

Thistl’d Haus brings our worlds together by focusing on technology driven timeless and sustainable design supported with renewable energy systems to push all of our projects towards the goal of building beautiful spaces that not only fit into the natural world that surrounds them but do so while supplying their own resources allowing us to build in remote locations without services. We’ll turn your thicket into a paradise!
